ALA 2014

CFP: Arthur Miller Society at the American Literature Association Conference

The Arthur Miller Society is forming panels for the May 2014 ALA Conference. For information about the overall conference check out the ALA website (http://americanliterature.org).

In recent years the American Dramatist Societies have tried to offer panels at the ALA on the same topic: for 2014 this will be each playwright’s influence on other playwrights (or in some cases the influences on that playwright–but given that Ibsen’s influence on Miller has been done to death, we’d rather just stick with the former which has been far less considered). Therefore, the Arthur Miller Society would like to organize one of their two panels around the idea of: “Arthur Miller’s influence on other playwrights.” Please send abstracts/papers on this topic to Sue Abbotson (sabbotson@ric.edu) by the end of December 2013. We are also looking for papers to form a second panel on any other aspect of Miller’s work–and you can send those to the same person/e-mail/deadline (the three that seem the most original and that best fit together will be selected!). Papers should be no longer than a 15-20 minute delivery!
